The Financial Times reported that Elon Musk’s company SpaceX had privately requested the Pentagon to pay for the continued operation of Starlink satellite internet terminals in Ukraine. The request followed an earlier decision by Musk to provide the service to Ukraine following Russia’s invasion, a move initially framed as a philanthropic effort. The financial burden of maintaining thousands of terminals and their associated data usage was reportedly becoming unsustainable for Musk's company.
