Despite pro-Russia proposals, Zelenskyy awards Musk highest Ukrainian honour

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's decision to present this honor to Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, comes amid ongoing efforts by Ukraine to secure international support and technological assistance during its conflict with Russia.

Musk's company, SpaceX, has been instrumental in providing Ukraine with Starlink satellite internet terminals, which have proven vital for communication and coordination for Ukrainian forces and civilians amidst Russian attacks on infrastructure. This award highlights the significant, albeit often controversial, role Musk and his companies have played in the Ukrainian struggle, seemingly independent of or even in contrast to certain proposals originating from Russia regarding the conflict's resolution.
